1, What this software can do:
    - It can read position from your NMEA compatible GPS receiver, and create kml files for GE to show your path,position,replay your tour,
    -"download/cache" an area in Google Earth by moving the current position, so you can use GE without internet connection for that area.

2, How to use:
    - Install Sun JRE (http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/  )
    - Extract Gecache

    - Connect to your GPS receiver
    - start GeCache.bat
    - Select Your COM port   
    - start reading gps, GE gps connection page
     - CREATE the connection to GE with the output files:
     - Increase cache file size (GE Options)



3, The files and the data (filename = your selection for the output, in the software,top left
  • Filename.kml : Current location ( Add / Network link in GE, shows your current location )  example
  • filename_path.kml:  Path file for GE ( Add / Network link in GE, shows your path in GE ) example
  • filename_tour.kml :  -Tour file for GE ( you can play your tour in GE )
    -Use this file for download/cache an area ! (after you created one in the "GE cache area" tabpage )
    when it is finished run the tour in GE !
  • filename_data.kml : Saved points/tracks until now
  • doc/gecache.re_ : OPTIONAL + Be carefull  !!!!
    With this file you can change your GE cache file location,so you can have more than 1 cache file
    (you NEED edit this file in a text editor first, If you want to change GE cache file location, modifies registry)
    In GE you can change the cache file size up to 2 GB,
    GE restart necessary if you change
    gecache.re_   needs to be renamed to gecache.reg ! to able to run !
